Rebeca from the Dominican Republic

Rebeca*, who was neglected and forced to work as a domestic servant at the age of twelve, found a new life at Kids Alive Dominican Republic. She received a warm welcome from the staff and was enrolled in their Christ-centered education programme, which helped her heal from her traumatic past.

Rebeca excelled at the school and received an education that included teachings from the Bible. Through her journey, her heart was transformed, and she became prepared for a life of independence and service. With the help of a Kids Alive scholarship, Rebeca attended university and earned her degree. Today, she is a teacher at the Kids Alive school, passing on the values she learned to the next generation of students.
