A two minute video celebrating bravery
Giving evidence in court is one of the toughest things that child victims of sexual assault in Guatemala have to do as part of their restoration process with Kids Alive. The team works hard with these precious children – and the courts – to make it as easy as possible for them, including celebrating their remarkable bravery once it is all over. Watch our video about it here.
How your support is making the process less traumatic
Our legal team in our Escuintla project work hard with the courts to ensure that children only give evidence via a ‘Gesell Camera’, so that they do not have to face their perpetrators, which can be absolutely terrifying for them (some of them are so young!). We are also campaigning to make this compulsory in all cases in Guatemala, not just Kids Alive ones, something which your support is helping us to do.
It is only thanks to our supporters like you that we are able to do this work. Whether you give to us financially, prayer for our work, sign our petitions, or tell others about what we do, we are so grateful.
"Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow." Isaiah 1: 17
