Sponsor Abdallah at our special Christian school for Syrian refugees in Lebanon

Abdallah is a cheerful 6-year-old boy who, until about a year ago, had never been in a classroom. Although he is currently catching up on his studies through our specialised Oasis project, designed for children significantly behind in their education, he excels particularly in Science, which is his favourite subject. Abdallah loves playing with toys and enjoys basketball with his friends. His favourite colour is green, and he loves apples. He dreams of learning to drive when he grows up. We have blurred Abdallah's image for privacy reasons, but we're happy to share a clear photo if you decide to sponsor him.

Why Abdallah needs you to sponsor him

About a quarter of Lebanon’s 6 million population are Syrian refugees. Traumatised by war, many fled Syria on foot across the mountains into Lebanon, where they now live in squalid conditions such as this container, stateless and lonely in a country that doesn’t want them.

Many are unemployed in a country that is in itself in economic turmoil, too scared to return to Syria. Children are years behind with their education, some as old as 13 who have never been in a classroom. Many suffer from the trauma of war.

How your sponsorship will transform Abdallah's life

Your sponsorship will fund Abdallah’s education at our ‘Dar el Awlad’ complex in Beirut, including free food, trauma counselling and family support. All in a loving Christian environment with daily devotions, Bible studies and prayer.

You will receive twice yearly updates about Abdallah and you can send him messages, especially on his birthday and at Christmas (research has shown that children with sponsors tend to do better due to an increased sense of self-worth and general wellbeing).

Thank you for sponsoring one of the world's most vulnerable children!
