Feeling Secure for the First Time
Two brothers, Jad, age 9, and Samir, age 7, came to Kids Alive Lebanon one summer morning with sad faces and tattered old clothes. The juvenile court brought them to us because of the horrific violence they experienced at home.
It took the brothers a little time to adjust to their new circumstances because their history taught them to be wary of their surroundings. But they gradually warmed up to the staff as they began to see the sincerity of their love for them. Jad and Samir felt secure for the first time in their lives, and those sad faces gave way to expressions of joy. The brothers’ joy only increased when they found new playmates.
Today, Jad and Samir are making significant progress physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
